A model relating direct normal (DIV) radiation data with total horizontal (TH) radiation data was developed. With the model solar engineers can estimate DN for any site for which TH data is available. Total radiated energy on a tilted surface (TT) is also of interest to solar engineers. Empirically derived functions relating DN and TH and TT and TH are presented.
