Some improvements are made in a previously obtained model of planetary surface potential that generalizes the expansion of the external potential. The case of a homogeneous ellipsoid of revolution is considered, and values of corrections to the satellite model are estimated. A correlation is established between the well-known potential expansion for the ellipsoid and the generalized expansion.
