Due to an error at the Press, gradient terms are missing from equations (3) and (4) and the text above equation (21) and following equation (23).
1. In equations (3) and (4), a gradient is missing from the pressure terms Pn and (Pi+Pe). These equations should read:ρn(∂vn)/∂t=-ρn(vnb.dot b.nabla)vn-b.nabla Pn-γρiρn(vn-vi)+ρng,ρi(∂vi)/∂t=-ρi(vib.dot b.nabla)vi-b.nabla(Pi+Pe)-γρiρn(vi-vn)+ρig+1/4π(b.nabla XB)XB. (3) (4)
2. In the text above equation (21), a gradient is missing in the denominator of the right-hand term of lδB=δB/δB; this formula should read ``We define lδB=δB/b.nabla δB, so that lδB=k-1.''
3. In the text following equation (23), a gradient is missing in the denominator of the right-hand term of lvi~vi/vi; this should read ``where lvi is the length scale over which the ion velocity changes, lvi~vi/b.nabla vi.''
The Press sincerely regrets these errors.
