Because of a production error at the proof stage, several corrections were not made in the final version.
1. Most importantly, the text immediately following equation (12) should read: ``where w is the vertical wind speed, t is time, v in this subsection alone is the 3D wind velocity, ∇ in this subsection alone is the 3D gradient operator, and u is the east-west wind speed.''
2. In the text description of Figure 11 (§ 4, paragraph 2), the sentence beginning ``During secondary eclipse...'' should read ``During transit (black solid curve), the emergent flux is low and deep absorption bands of CH4 and H2O appear.''
3. Section 3.1, paragraph 2, ``Fig.'' is incorrectly repeated in the middle of the paragraph; it should read just ``(Figs. 4 and 5, middle and bottom panels).''
4. Section 3.1, first sentence, should be worded: ``Consistent with the results of Cooper & Showman (2005, 2006)....''
