Series of visual and photographic photometric estimates show that the ellipsoidally varying recurrent nova and symbiotic star T Coronae Borealis can, rarely, be abnormally bright for its phase shortly before and after secondary conjunction, notably at the phase of the ultraviolet flare observed photoelectrically in 1963. Visual and photographic estimates at the two orbital elongations have also had exceptional residual magnitudes.
