An analysis of the dynamics in a circular orbit of a system consisting of an elastic bar bent into a ring is presented, assuming that the ends of the rod are attached to a body of negligibly small (compared with the ring radius) dimensions. Ring configurations corresponding to the equilibrium position in the orbital coordinate system are studied analytically and numerically. Depending on the governing dimensionless parameters of the system, the following characteristics of the equilibrium configurations are studied: the area limited by the ring, the linear dimensions of the structure, and the elastic responses at points where the rod is connected to the small body.
