A similarity solution has been derived in the form of a power series of the nonlinear magnetostatic equilibrium equation, and the region of convergence in the parameter space has been identified. Equilibrium configurations are observed in this region, and non-equilibrium configurations outside it. An example of nonlinear equilibrium configuration is shown graphically. The results can be used to explain the generation of multiribbon flares, two-arch structures, and the structures of the magnetic fields above elongated sunspot groups.
