It is well known that the line element corresponding to the homogeneous universe can be derived from the physical assumptions that the material with which we are dealing is radially symmetric and spatially isotropic. In order to obtain a more general cosmology the following physical assumptions are made: 1. The matter in the body is radially symmetric. 2. The matter comprises a perfect fluid at rest. And 3. The matter obeys an equation of state of the form p=p(ρ) where p is the pressure p is the density. It is shown that the above assumptions lead to three possible cosmologies. One of these is of course the homogeneous universe and the other two are new.
