Equation Of State: Stellar Interiors, Equation Of State: Solar Interior

The authors present the formulation of atomic configuration probabilities and the conservation equation for the electron number. They can be used to calculate the thermodynamic equilibrium of stellar gases with ionization, degeneracy and Coulomb interactions. The approach incorporates the perturbations caused by the Coulomb interactions between particles into the EOS formulation. Thus, it can interpret pressure ionization of molecules and atoms in cool-dense gases, and also gives the resulting nonideal terms of thermodynamic properties. The resulting formulae have been applied to the study of the nonideal effects of cool-dense gases due to Coulomb interactions and the influence of pressure ionization on solar models.
