High-resolution spectra of late-type dwarfs including the sun show Epsilon Eri to be exceptional by its intense small-scale photospheric velocity field. This is discussed in relation to the star's well-documented high chromospheric activity. Abundance analysis suggests that the chromosphere of Epsilon Eri is less massive than reported previously.
