This article outlines teaching materials for one to three SETI lectures
for nonscientists. The lectures' goals are to (1) present SETI, (2)
illustrate scientific methodology, (3) apply the principles of energy,
electrodynamics, and special relativity, and (4) consider a social
implication known as ``Fermi's question.''
