Several methods of computer processing were used to enhance comet's near nucleus images. By these methods, a comet's near nucleus phenomena, such as jets and shells, can be displayed clearly. The authors used these methods to enhance the CCD images of Comet Hale-Bopp, which were taken with the 40 cm telescope of Purple Mountain Observatory. From these images of the comet on March 3 and 4, two shells and jets on northwest of the nucleus can be seen more clearly.
