An analysis is presented of ionizational and deceleration losses of energy experienced by albedo electrons in the nonuniform geomagnetic field as they ascend from heights of 30-60 km to 200 km. The fraction of integral energy carried to a height of 200 km by electrons produced near the equator at a height of 40 km with energies of 100-300 MeV and at a pitch angle of 89 deg is calculated. This fraction is found to be very small; hence, a direct comparison of vertical electron fluxes in the specified energy range in the stratosphere (h = 40 km) with fluxes at h = 200 km is incorrect if data on the angular and spectral characteristics of the compared fluxes is not taken into account.
