Bound quantum systems not expanding with the comoving frame of a flat, FRW metric are found to release energy at a rate linearly proportional to the present epoch Hubble constant and the system's binding energy. We find that if we say that metric expansion proceeds at all gravitationally classical scales (as suggested when an ubiquitous cosmological constant or dark energy is used to explain cosmological acceleration), and also assume that bound systems spatially hold together, resisting the Hubble flow, energy will be released due to their interactions with the flowing vacuum. An expression for this energy release will be presented.
