The question of electron reacceleration in radio jets after their leaving the central power house in the compact cores of the radio galaxies is one of the problems at the heart of the physics of extragalactic radio sources. An interesting heating scheme in magnetically dominated jets is the resonance of MHD (MagnetoHydroDynamics) surface waves, generated by Kelvin-Helmholtz instability, with shear Alfven waves in the body of the jet. The resulting dissipation or convection of wave energy by phase mixing in the frame of ideal MHD for a monotonous profile of plasma parameters is described. Conditions are given for the processes which actually limit the resonance.
