The definition of the end date of the current solar cycle, number 22 as normally labeled, is studied. During the study, several methods of cycle matching and prediction were developed, with varying correlations on the historical data. These are called the emulation methods because they are based on data considerations only. Some thoughts on extension of the methods towards a theory are also included.
