The application of an empirical formula to describe the photometric behavior of stars with the R Coronae Borealis (RCB) phenomenon, i.e., stars which exhibit the formation and ejection of the dust layer, shows the prospects of this approach, which makes it possible to obtain some standard pattern for this phenomenon and, consequently, facilitate its theoretical interpretation. The presence of a unified description of the process of the formation and ejection of the dust layer points to the significance of the initial conditions, which determine the entire subsequent development of a phenomenon of the RCB type.
