Radiation Mechanisms: De Sitter Universe

Scientific paper

The process of photon emission by an electron in the de Sitter universe is considered. The de Sitter metric is taken in the quasi-Euclidean Robertson-Walker form. The amplitude of the process is calculated using the S-matrix formalism in quantum electrodynamics in an external gravitational field. The initial and final single-particle states of the fermion field are determined at η → ±∞ using the WKB solutions of the Dirac equation. The probability of the process is calculated and its dependence on the spacetime curvature is studied. It is shown that in the classical limit the spectral distribution of the radiation energy agrees with the electron radiation spectrum calculated within the framework of classical electrodynamics.
