Gamma ray measurements of the galactic center were made with an airborne array of seven NaI spectrometers that featured an energy resolution of 40 keV FWHM at the 511 keV level. The data were compared with a previous model for the galactic center emissions that considered three spectral components: a power law continuum, a narrow line at 0.511 MeV, and a positronium continuum. A total of 18 spectra were gathered each for 1000 sec. The spectra were subdivided into 14 discrete 0.35 MeV energy intervals from 0.21-5.10 MeV; fractional count rates were calculated as a function of time and examined with least squares fits. The flux was found to be double that of previous measurements and indicated a line intensity of within 0.6 of 4.0 x 0.001 gamma/sq cm per sec. A flat spectral characteristic was observed in the 300-511 keV energy range, supporting a hypothesis of annihilation of ground states of positronium.
