An elemental abundance study used AAT echelle spectrograms of the
ultrasharp-lined, superficially normal B6 IV star Xi Octantis. The
derived abundances fall within the trends of values derived for normal B
main-sequence band stars. On average, they are 0.28 dex less than solar.
