It is shown that the introduction of K-shell photoionization of O0, followed by Auger effect, as a population mechanism of O2+ metastable levels can modify the behaviour of ROIII = [O III]λ4363/λλ(5007+4959) intensity ratio with electron temperature. The results indicate that one should be cautious in using this line ratio in temperature determinations for the emission line region of active galactic nuclei.
