An elaborate 13-state R-matrix calculation is performed to determine collision strengths and Maxwellian-averaged rate coefficients for fine-structure transitions in N II. Analytic fits are given for the rate coefficients for the temperature range 5000-125 892 K, so that they may be applied to investigations of solar/late-type stars and planetary nebulae.
