The excitation of the 5P0 and 5D0 states of the iron atom has been investigated by the method of crossing atomic and electron beams. The absolute values of excitation cross-sections for 74 lines of Fe I in the region 2000-6000 Å have been measured, with energy of the exciting electrons up to 50 eV. For 36 lines the optical excitation functions have been registered.
