Auroral-absorption data are used to determine the parameters of precipitating electron fluxes and to calculate electron density profiles for the disturbances of November 17-18, 1983. Model-determined values of electron density for the 70.5-100.5-km height range are compared with a large volume of experimental N(h) profiles obtained with the EISCAT setup during the period considered. It is concluded that the proposed approach for calculating electron density at different D-region heights is sufficiently accurate.
