A model of the heating of solar corona is proposed which uses electron-cyclotron resonance heating to explain the temperature gradient observed in spectroscopic studies of solar corona. Model calculations yield the magnitude of the electron temperature due to electron-cylotron heating equal to about 2 x 10 to the 7th K, which is higher than the temperature at the base of the corona; this is explained by the possibility that the collisions of the electrons with the protons and the nuclei of the elements of higher atomic weights is not considered by the model. The continuous spectrum of the inner part of the corona, on which there are superimposed bright lines, is explained as being due to the cyclotron radiations of the relativistic and nonrelativistic electrons, respectively.
