Much scientific effort has been put to develop the foundations and applications of radar polarimetry. In this paper, a not so often used definition for the polarization will be reintroduced and its utilization explained. It will be shown, that the Electric Field Ratio representation is not only simple, but substantially better definition for polarization than the commonly used Polarization Ellipse in many types of calculations.
