The electric field of a rotating conducting sphere with a magnetic moment is computed for a sphere rotating in vacuum and for a sphere surrounded with a magnetosphere similar to that proposed by Goldreich and Julian (1969). Two models of radio pulsars are discussed: the ejection model (charged particles are ejected from the surface layer of a neutron star) and the accretion model (charged particles are supplied by interstellar neutral hydrogen).
