Solar Activity: Oscillations, Solar-Terrestrial Relations

Scientific paper

The 50-day oscillations of the solar flux of 2800 MHz, sunspot relative number, atmospheric angular momentum and variation in the length of day have been studied. The variable regulations of their oscillation periods are very similar and the range of variation of periods is from 40 d to 60 d. In the period 1981 - 1994, four El Niño events occurred when the periods of 50-day oscillation of solar activity reached minimum values. This result suggests that the solar activity is perhaps an excitation that leads to El Niño events.
