Variations of electron density and temperature in the upper ionosphere during the solar eclipses of February 16 and August 10, 1980 were studied at equatorial latitudes on the basis of Intercosmos-19 data. In the shadow region, the largest decreases of electron density were observed near the F-layer maximum. In addition, the electron temperature at heights of 600-700 km was found to remain constant during the eclipses. Stable longitudinal variations of the equatorial anomaly were observed under undisturbed daytime conditions in the Pacific zone.
