An exact analysis of the effects of mass transfer on the flow of a viscous incompressible fluid past an uniformly accelerated vertical porous and non-porous plate has been presented on taking into account the free convection currents. The results are discussed with the effects of the Grashof number Gr, the modified Grashof number Gc, the Schmidt number Sc, and the suction parameter a for Pr (the Prandtl number) = 0.71 representing air at 20 C.
