The nature of cosmological solutions for the homogeneous Bianchi type II model is studied, taking dissipative processes due to viscosity into account. Several general conclusions made on the basis of a previous study of the Bianchi type I model are confirmed, and qualitatively different forms of both the initial and the final singularities are obtained. Rough outlines of the evolution of the universe are developed for the cases of low and high energy density. It is shown that although analogous calculations can be performed for the Bianchi type VI, VII, VIII, and IX models, these are unfeasible since they require at least eight variables.
