The effect of tides on the gravitational fields of the giant planets is
analyzed. It is shown that 'gravitational noise' from Io-induced tides
can affect the determination of the J(8) and J(10) moments for Jupiter.
It is suggested that satellite-induced tides could have a similar effect
on the gravitational fields of Saturn and Neptune.
