We introduce modeling of the extended wings of strong emission lines by the electron-scattering process. We apply our profile-fitting analysis to the broad wings of the O VI resonance doublet λ1032Å, λ1038Å measured by the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) in the spectra of symbiotic stars Z And, AG Dra and V1016 Cyg. By this way we determine the electron temperature Te and optical depth τe of the layer of electrons, throughout which the line photons are transferred on the line of sight.
