The study of flows through porous media is of interest in many scientific and engineering applications. Here, an unsteady motion of an incompressible and electrically conducting viscous fluid along an infinite nonconducting vertical plate through a porous medium has been considered. The effects of a magnetic field of uniform strength on the free-convection and mass transfer flow through this porous medium are examined. The velocity field distribution is illustrated with tables for different parameter values such as Schmidt number, Prandtl number, magnetic number, permeability parameter, Grashoff number, and modified Grashoff number.
