The effect of finite ion Larmor radius on the Kelvin-Helmholtz
instability of the earth's magnetopause is theoretically investigated
when a wave vector is perpendicular to a magnetic field. It is found
that a dawn-dusk asymmetry in excited waves is caused by this effect.
This result is discussed in comparison with satellite observations.
