We investigate the effect on the radio to soft x-ray non-thermal emission from blazars due to the inclusion of the adiabatic loss mechanism, in addition to the usual synchrotron and particle escape losses of energetic electrons in the jets of blazars. We model the emission region as an expanding spherical cloud, supplied with energetic electrons and permeated by a homogeneous magnetic field, being convected out in the jet. The solutions of the electron kinetic equations in the acceleration and the emission regions show that the adiabatic loss mechanism produces characteristic features in the energy spectrum and the time-variability of emissions from blazars. .
