A search for eclipsing binaries in the globular cluster Omega Centauri was conducted with the aim of using photometric and spectroscopic mass determinations, and radii and chemical composition evaluations of the binary systems to enhance understanding of globular cluster origins. A simple photographic technique was employed to isolate 79 possible variable stars (changing more than 0.3 magnitude) on 11 plates taken on five consecutive nights. At least one of these variable stars seems a likely possibility for classification as an eclipsing binary, since it dropped 0.7 magnitude on two plates obtained in immediate succession.
