The H-alpha and forbidden NII line profiles of the bright core and faint high-speed outer lobes of the bipolar nebula He2-111 were observed with the Manchester echelle spectrometer. To explain the observed velocity features, a model is proposed where stellar ejectae from a nova-like eruption collide with small ambient globules to produce convex, radiative bow shocks. An alternative model is also considered which is based on reverse bow shocks caused by the collision of axial jets with the surrounding medium.
