A far exterior solution to the Schwarschild-de Sitter geometry is presented which provides orbital features as corrections to the Keplerian orbits of classical mechanics. It is found that a cosmological constant produces increased eccentricity when compared to Keplerian orbits. This contribution to eccentricity is in addition to that already predicted by the relativistic treatment of the central-mass problem considering matter alone (Schwarzschild geometry). Although the contribution to precession of planetary orbits due to a cosmological constant has been ruled unobservable, a contribution to eccentricity has not yet been considered. This prediction is supported by a closed-form equation of orbit that is consistent with the known rate of precession due to a cosmological constant. Contributions of a cosmological constant to properties of orbits may also provide qualitative understandings of more complex systems such as the formation and virial radius of galaxy clusters.
