Initial results will be presented for the program of long-term optical (R-band) CCD monitoring of quasars with z > 3 which has been initiated with the 0.8 meter telescope at the Dark Sky Observatory. Contained within the program object list are all currently identified objects with z > 4. The variability of all these early epoch objects will be compared with the well documented characteristics of those objects at lower redshifts. Evidence of any OVV activity is of special interest. When any of these sources brightens significantly, other observers at all wavelengths will be alerted.
