The observational evidence for variable mean flows (the differential rotation and meridional circulation) in the solar convection zone suggests their connection to the cyclic mean magnetic field of the solar dynamo. For this reason the mean-field equations of motion, the feedback of the magnetic field as the driving force, are formulated and solved for the time-dependent part of the differential rotation and meridional circulation. It is shown that the main observed properties of the flows can be produced by a dynamo model, which is in accordance with the observed mean magnetic field. The flows, their phase-relations and those of the magnetic field may, in addition, yield a tool for the investigation of the dynamo and the convection zone.
