On the basis of the mean field induction equation axisymmetric, kinematic alpha omega-dynamos are calculated and applied to the sun. With turbulent kinematic viscosity and magnetic diffusivity both of the order of 10-100 million sq m/s and a turbulent heat diffusivity of the order of one trillion sq m/s, meridional velocity at the surface and the pole-equator temperature difference are found to be smaller than 1 m/s and 3 deg K, respectively. In addition, the critical Reynolds number of the alpha-effect is such that the strength ratio of the mean poloidal field to the toroidal one is about 0.01.
