Scientific paper

Theoretical and experimental research on distribution of wind velocity by altitude and general atmospheric circulation of Venus is discussed. The experimental data used were obtained on the Venera-4--Venera-8 interplanetary space stations. These data are compared with those taken from numerical experiments on a mathematical model of the atmosphere of Venus. Similarities and differences between theoretical and experimental profiles of wind velocity are covered.
