The paper examines the effect of the Bz component of the IMF and the geomagnetic disturbance intensity on the position of discrete auroras in the daytime sector of the auroral oval. It is shown that, in the case of a weakly varying level of magnetic activity, the dynamics of the auroral glow band in the daytime sector is determined by Bz variations in the solar wind in earth orbit. As the magnetic disturbance region is intensified, the glow region is shifted toward the equator, and Bz-dependent variations of daytime aurora position occur at lower latitudes.
