Results are presented of an investigation of the motions of individual fragments of an active prominence based on a series of photographs in H-alpha. It is found that the movement of all the details is well described as motion under the action of gravity along a rigid field line which rotates in the picture plane about a certain center located near the photosphere. Oscillatory motion of knots is detected. A simple model of the magnetic field configuration for this prominence is proposed. It is concluded that the magnetic field has the determining role in the stage of breakup of such active prominences.
