Nonlinear nonstationary two-dimensional equations modeling the self-organization of a system of multiple bubbles in the equatorial ionosphere are solved numerically. It is shown that the interaction of the bubbles has a complex quasi-periodic character. The central bubbles are dominant in the system development, and not more than two strongly developed bubbles can exist at the same time. Only a few bubbles will be produced when the ionosphere is abundantly seeded with small perturbations under conditions favorable for the Rayleigh-Taylor instability.
