The motion of a spacecraft stabilized by long rods with weights at their ends is analyzed with allowance for the elastic vibrations generated by the control moment of the preliminary damping system and for the moment generated by the stabilization system itself. The equations of the relative motion of the system (of deformable and rigid members) are derived by a method proposed by Lur'e (1961). The sufficient conditions for the Liapunov stability of the elastic system, composed of the spacecraft and the stabilization system, are established.-
