A theory of dynamical tides on the giant planets has been developed. Love numbers and the amplitudes of the tidal waves have been numerically calculated. The Love numbers for the two-layer and three-layer models of Uranus and Neptune have been compared. The static tides on the giant planets and their effects on the gravitational fields of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune have been examined in Gavrilov et al. (1975) and Gavrilov and Zharkov (1977). The dynamical tides on these planets are studied in this report. Attention is turned to the appreciable amplitudes for the tidal wave on Jupiter due to Io, and also the Love numbers for the two-layer and three-layer models of Uranus and Neptune are compared.
