Dynamic geomagnetic-field spectra in the period range from 5 to 11 years were analyzed using modified spectral-time analysis (STA) based on the narrow-band time-domain filtering of the experimental data. Mean monthly values of the H and Z components of the geomagnetic field were obtained from a number of observatories, with data from the Nimeg observatory for 1890-1977 being the most significant. It is concluded that STA is an effective method for investigating the structure of the geomagnetic field and for interpreting the Fourier spectra of field components.
