We are examining the amount and nature of dust produced by Red Supergiants (RSGs) by analyzing a unique dataset of RSGs in the LMC and SMC. We will apply the Mocassin and DIRTY Monte Carlo codes to model radiative transfer (RT) in the RSG circumstellar dust shells. Spitzer/IRS and visible spectra, 2MASS, Spitzer/IRAC, and MIPS photometry have been obtained for all the stars in our sample. Stellar SEDs and extinction curves, derived from the optical and near-IR data have been combined with the Spitzer IR photometry to use as inputs to the RT codes. Additionally, we are using the PAHFIT code to decompose the spectra into their components including PAHs, silicates such as olivine and pyroxene, and continuum emission. This modeling allows us to infer the total circumstellar dust mass around the sample RSGs. We are using the K-[24] color to calibrate dust mass-loss rates using Spitzer/MIPS data for our sample stars. By measuring the amount of dust produced by RSGs in different environments (low vs. high metallicity), we can quantify their role in galactic dust-content evolution, which will have an impact on our understanding of massive star evolution and dust production.
